Bay to Breakers is Sunday, May 18. Temporary traffic and transit alterations will begin at midnight on Saturday, May 17th. Adjust your travel plans accordingly.



Public Transportation

Public transportation is a great way to get to and from the race. Muni, BART, Caltrain, SamTrans, Vallejo Baylink Ferry, Alameda/Oakland Ferry and Golden Gate Ferry will all be providing additional services for the event. For more detailed information about special transit schedules click here.

Street Closures

Below is a detailed list of streets that will be closed on race day, for the duration listed.

As part of the race accommodation, the Fremont Street off-ramp from westbound Interstate 80 (San Francisco- Oakland Bay Bridge) will be closed between 12:01 AM and 11:00 AM (approximately) on Sunday, May 18th.

Alternate routes to take through the City:

  • The Embarcadero will remain open in both directions at all times
  • 19th Avenue/Park Presidio will remain open in both directions at all times

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, avoid/postpone travel in the affected areas or use public transportation on the day of the race.
