Casual carpooling is a convenient, grassroots option for commuting to San Francisco. Drivers and passengers meet at designated pick-up locations in the East Bay and form carpools of three. These carpools then utilize HOV lanes and discounted Bay Bridge tolls for a faster and more affordable commute. As more people return to in-person work, casual carpooling is making a comeback, offering a flexible and sustainable transportation option.

Clipper Access processing locations and hours of operation information are listed below. If you are applying for the first time, you must go in person to a processing location because your photo will be taken. For renewal applications and replacement applications (for lost, stolen, or damaged cards) you can go to the processing location or send the application through the mail.
