Wheels is the local transit system in the Dublin / Pleasanton / Livermore area of the East Bay. Its major hubs are at the Livermore Transit Center and at the East Dublin / Pleasanton and West Dublin / Pleasanton BART stations, with scheduled timed-transfers between buses and to and from BART trains.
The Wheels service comprises local, limited, and express routes that range from peak-period-only to 24/7 operation; frequencies range from single daily roundtrips on school-centered routes to every 10 or 15 minutes on trunk routes.
There are 4 Transit Centers that serve LAVTA (Wheels).
Transit Accessibility Services
All Wheels buses are wheelchair accessible, and have priority seating areas for the elderly and disabled. All major bus stops are handicap accessible; however, some of the less-frequented bus stops may not be fully accessible for individuals with limited mobility due to streetscape factors beyond the control of the Wheels service.
Individuals who have a disability or health-related condition that prevents them from using regular fixed route service may avail of the curb-to-curb Wheels paratransit service, but must must first apply and be approved prior to using this service.
