New High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes will open in Spring 2025 on I-80 in Solano County. Later in 2025, these lanes, along with existing I-80 HOV lanes, will become express lanes.
New High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lanes Opening Soon
New HOV lanes on I-80 between Air Base Parkway in Fairfield and I-505 in Vacaville are scheduled to open soon: westbound in late February or March and eastbound in April or May. Caltrans link
- HOV Requirement: 2 or more people, motorcycles and eligible Clean Air Vehicles
- HOV Hours: 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday – Friday
Future Express Lanes
Later in 2025, the new HOV lanes, plus existing HOV lanes between Red Top Rd. and Air Base Parkway, will become express lanes.
- Express Lane Hours: 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- 3+ Carpools and Motorcycles: Toll free with FasTrak Flex tags set to 3+
- 2-person Carpools: Half-price tolls with FasTrak Flex tags set to 2
- Solo drivers: Full toll with FasTrak Flex tags set to 1
