The multi-agency collaborative broke ground on the project in May 2022 to help combat ongoing congestion along the I-80 corridor and to bring relief for commuters traveling in and out of Solano County. The new travel lanes will help alleviate the traffic bottlenecks along the corridor, improve transit reliability, and improve access for emergency response vehicles.
The lanes will operate as HOV 2+ carpool lanes from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. During these times, only 2+ person carpools and eligible clean air vehicles can use the lanes.
