Benicia-Martinez Bridge

The Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA) collects tolls on the seven state-owned toll bridges in the Bay Area. All seven of the Bay Area’s state owned bridges have permanently transition to all-electronic tolling. You can use either FasTrak to pay your toll, or set up a License Plate Account. Automated, high-speed cameras will capture images of customers’ license plates, and the FasTrak customer service center will process the images and then mail an invoice each month to the address at which the vehicle is registered with the DMV. For more information about FasTrak or setting up a License Plate Account, visit bayareafastrak.org or call 877-BAY-TOLL.

Carpools with 3 or more people, 2 people in a 2-seater and motorcycles must use a FasTrak Flex toll tag set to “3+” and drive in the marked carpool lanes to get the 50% toll discount during posted carpool hours. Vehicles using a standard FasTrak® tag or a FasTrak Flex set in positions “1” or “2” will be charged the full toll, even if they meet occupancy requirements. No changes to carpool rules on the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge, where any FasTrak tag can be used to receive carpool discounts. 

Save Time with Two! On Antioch, Benicia-Martinez, Carquinez, Dumbarton, Richmond-San Rafael, San Mateo-Hayward bridges, vehicles with 2 people and a FasTrak Flex tag set to “2” can use the marked carpool lanes during posted carpool hours, but do not get a toll discount. On the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge, 2-person carpools are not permitted in the carpool lane.
